Ken is a Certified Public Accountant licensed to practice in Georgia and Pennsylvania. He is the Founder President of Schuckers & Associates, a CPA firm specializing in taxcconsulting for affluent individuals, businesses and business owners. His decades of accounting and tax experience include positions at some of the world’s largest and most respected Certified Public Accounting Firms. He is nationally known for his expertise in utilization of a wide variety tax credits and incentives that can assist taxpayers in lowering their tax liability.
Ken was born in Rochester, NY. After graduating from High School in 1985 he served in Army Reserves from 1985 to 1994. He attended Clarion University of Pennsylvania, graduating in three years (magna cum laude) with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, majoring in Accounting.
Ken’s accounting career includes positions with Ernst & Young and also with Deloitte in Pittsburg, PA. Early in his career he realized that he enjoyed tax law, business consulting, and tax credits and incentives. It was during this time that Ken began learning and expanding his knowledge of business and tax consulting and tax credits and incentives. From 1996 – 2002 Ken became a nationally recognized expert in Research and Development tax credits.
In 1999 Ken moved to Atlanta, Georgia to build a Southeast tax consulting team for Deloitte. From 1998 – 2013, Ken led regional business and tax consulting teams. Areas of expertise grew to Research & Development tax credits, Domestic Production Activities Deductions, Alternative Energy tax incentives and credits, Film and Entertainment tax incentives, and other tax credits and incentives. During this time Ken was a Partner at Grant Thornton, LLP and a Senior Manager and Director at other large firms.
In 2014 Ken founded Schuckers & Associates, PC. His firm focuses primarily on planning for affluent individuals, small to mid-size businesses and their owners/shareholders. Ken helps businesses and their owners/shareholders with business planning, out-source CFO services, tax planning, tax credits and incentives, and tax compliance.
While creating optimum tax strategies for his clients is a fundamental part of the services of Schuckers and Associates, Ken also provides guidance with establishing realistic personal and business goals, creating the most advantageous corporate structure, optimizing operational efficiencies, and developing exit/transition strategies for those who are buying or selling a business or property.
Ken lives in Canton, GA with his wife, Dyan, and two children, Kenny and Ana. In Ken’s free time he and his family enjoy travel to beaches. He and his family enjoy snorkeling and are certified scuba divers. Ken and his family play tennis. Ken and his family also enjoy cooking and gardening.
